Job Description:

Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading hedge fund seeking a driven and detail-oriented Equity Analyst to join their investment team with a focus on the Consumer sector. As an Equity Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting deep fundamental research and analysis to support investment strategies in this space. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating closely with portfolio managers and other analysts.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth industry research and financial analysis on companies within the Consumer sector.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models to forecast company performance, assess valuation, and analyze financial statements.
• Track industry trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors affecting the sector.
• Generate actionable investment ideas based on thorough research and communicate recommendations effectively to portfolio managers.
• Monitor and evaluate portfolio positions and update investment theses as new data becomes available.
• Participate in meetings with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or CFA) is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of equity research (Hedge Fund/Private Equity) or investment banking experience, preferably with a focus on the Consumer sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and manage detailed financial models.
  • A deep understanding of valuation techniques, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a passion for investing.
