  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a travel assignment.
    • Job Requirements
    • The right candidate will have 2+ years of experience.
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA license.
      • Schedule Information
      • Contract length: 13 weeks
      • Shifts: 7a-7p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
      • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Fri/Sat nights, Sat/Sun for days)
      • Holidays: Every other holiday rotating
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Unit: TCU--Telemetry, cardiac intervention unit and tele overflow
        • # beds: 20 tele beds, 16 cardiac intervention beds and 8 overflow tele beds (these are all a stepdown level of care)--all same cost center so will cover all
        • Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4 based on acuity
        • EMR: Cerner
        • IV Team: Yes 08-1600
        • RT 24/7: Yes
        • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
        • Tele: Phillips monitors, must read and interpret strips; do have monitor techs
        • Vents: No full vent, do have CPAP, BIPAP and Hi-flow O2
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes 24/7
        • Floor specific orientation: 3 shifts on the unit
        • Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Post cath patients both clean and interventions; post TEE, Post cardioversion, ablations, AICD, sometimes external temp pacer patients, sometimes transcutaneous pacing, chest tubes, tube feedings, lots of drains, must be very fluent in gtts--will titrate down; gtts seen include amiodarone, cardizem, nitro, pressors, dopamine, insulin, heparin, etc...
